Launch of Run for All Leicester 10K 2023

Not-for-profit events company, Run For All, are delighted to confirm the return of one of the region’s most popular running events, the Run for All Leicester 10K.

Taking place at 09.30am on Sunday 29th January, 2023, runners will take on a brand new 10K route.

The event is set to be an inclusive and supported race for participants of all abilities and ages and is expected to raise tens of thousands of pounds for local and national charities.

Mike Tomlinson, CEO of Run For All said:

“We are really looking forward to returning to Leicester on Sunday 29th January for the Leicester 10K. Regardless of your goal or reason for taking part; whether that be for your own personal challenge, to fundraise for a charity close to your heart or to simply sign up for fun, we hope to see you on the start line in 2023.”

The brand-new route starts in Jubilee Square and runners will head into the city centre before heading onto Granby Street and into Victoria Park. The beautiful greenery of the park will then weave runners through the University of Leicester before the course takes runners back towards the city centre, taking participants via many of the city’s landmarks including the Leicester Museum & Art Gallery and Leicester Cathedral. Runners will then head back to Jubilee Square for the big finish.

The 10K is renowned for attracting large, supportive crowds, who will gather to watch the runners from various hotspots throughout the town.

As one of the highlights in the region’s sporting calendar, it’s hoped thousands will return to the streets of Leicester to take on the 10K challenge, whether as part of fundraising efforts, to chase a PB or simply for fun with friends and family.

Building on its previous organisation of the event, Run For All are working to increase community and charity engagement, while also working to remove barriers to participation for the event, so that more people in the region can enjoy the benefits of getting active.

Any more charities interested in becoming an official charity partner of the event, whether they have previously been involved with the Leicester 10K or not, are encouraged to contact Run For All as soon as possible.

Richard Kotulecki, Chief Executive of Lamp, the Leicester-based mental health advocacy charity said: “We’re delighted to be working with Run For All on this great initiative, as one of the group of charity partners for the Leicester 10k in January. This is an excellent opportunity for people to not only raise funds for vital local charities by completing the challenge, but also, from our own perspective, to support their own mental wellbeing by taking part in vigorous physical exercise.”

The event also works closely with local businesses across the region and is encouraging anyone interested in partnering with the event to get in touch with Run For All.

The Leicester 10K is supported by High 5, Shokz, Up & Running, Coopah Running, Arla Protein and Marathon Photos. Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, the Leicester 10K forms part of the Run For All series of runs which, along with Leicester, includes events in Sheffield, Bury, Middlesbrough, Hull, Leeds, York, Derby, King’s Lynn, Ipswich and Lincoln.

Entries are now open. To sign up and check out the route participants are encouraged to go to www.runforall.com
