A rite of spring – come along to Crocus Sundays and donate to Lamp!
One of the most welcome signs of spring is the crocus and the Crocus Sundays events, which have become something of a permanent feature of the University of Leicester’s Botanic Garden.
If you love the sight of the pretty, softly-shaded orchid hued blooms, then don’t miss Crocus Sundays which will take place on Sunday 27 February and Sunday 6 March 2022 from 10am to 4pm. As one of the first flowers to bloom in spring, the crocuses put on a spectacular display throughout the garden.
The University will continue with its tradition of supporting local charities, and visitors will be able to make a voluntary donation to Lamp as they enter the garden. Volunteers will be on hand, ready to let visitors know about our work and provide information so that people can reach out to Lamp when they need support.
The University’s Botanic Garden is well worth a visit and is situated on the south side of Leicester, opposite the racecourse. Entrance is from Glebe Rd, Oadby (LE2 2LD), a wide, residential road with no parking restrictions, immediately before the racecourse roundabout.
The event is hosted by the Friends of the Botanic Garden. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day. More information on the University of Leicester’s Botanic Garden can be found here.
