Hold a Christmas Knitwear Day to raise funds for Lamp
With Christmas around the corner, have you thought about ways that you can positively impact your community during this season of giving and goodwill? On the 20th December 2019, Lamp are celebrating Christmas by hosting a Christmas Knitwear Day, and we would love for you to get involved!
During winter, the drop in temperature, the loss of daylight and the feeling of lethargy can affect many of us. We may feel a change in our routine, our appetite or not want to socialise, which can lead to mental health issues like Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). We therefore wanted to use this event to bring some festive cheer during a time of the year where mental health issues can be at their most prominent.
If you are a school, workplace or community group, looking to show your support for looking after your mental health during the winter period, please join us in wearing an item Christmas knitwear on 20th December 2019! If you are looking to fundraise in support of Lamp on this day, asking for a suggested donation of, for example, £2 for every person who participates, which would be a fantastic act of kindness that we would very much appreciate. If you are unable to donate, please find your nearest mental health charity shop, and donate any spare clothing for the winter season that you may have, as this too would benefit those in the community who need it!
