Lamp helps hundreds more people as pandemic impacts mental health

It has been predicted that there will be a 20% rise in people reporting severe mental health difficulties, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the outbreak, Lamp has helped hundreds of people with free community mental health advocacy in Leicester and Carers Advocacy in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Since April 2020, 646 phone calls were made and over 3000 emails were sent from Lamp’s mental health advocacy team to local clients and businesses.

To help support clients daily, over 100 well-being tips were shared on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to over 1000 Lamp followers. These tips increased Lamp’s Facebook reach by 4000%. During the peak of the outbreak, social media engagement continued to grow with Lamp’s Twitter impressions peaking at 131,000 in May and engagement up by 200% on Lamp’s Instagram page.

Digital growth continued during this time, with Lamp’s website visits increasing by 28% in April, 15% in May and 20% in June. With engagement also up by 40% on Lamp’s LinkedIn page.
