Nelsons plans Charity of the Year events for Lamp

Nelsons Solicitors, a leading law firm based in the East Midlands, recently named Lamp as one of its three Charities of the Year across the East Midlands.

Last year, Nelsons managed to raise almost £8,000 across its three offices in Leicester, Nottingham and Derby for their chosen charities, and they hope to surpass that this year.

Staff in Nelsons Leicester office will be raising money throughout the year in a number of different ways including dress down days, bake sales and charity walking groups.

Danielle Young, Legal Director and Solicitor at Nelsons, said:

“We do different things through the year to fundraise for our chosen charities. Every month, we have a dress down day where all donations go to Lamp. For World Mental Health Day, we held a Tea and Talk event where we raised money and discussed mental health matters. We also have a Halloween quiz coming up, and a sponsored exercise challenge in November in the Leicester office, where all funds raised will go to Lamp. We try and join forces with the other offices where we can to maximise our fundraising efforts and make things more fun for everyone involved.”

This year, staff hope to surpass that amount and hope to attract the support of local businesses with fundraising efforts or prize donations.
